Facebook Login; Using Free Proxy Server or Paid Services?

July 11th, 2011

Proxy server that are often without maintenance, may encounter frequent network issues, such as poor connectivity. For most users, good proxy servers don’t consider connectivity issue as a major issues. For others, however, reliability and secured proxy server serve the utmost priority.

If proxy server is a gateway that you can use to login to Facebook, then it should be reliable to produce consistency in network connectivity, plus secured usage.

Technically speaking, when one owns a proxy server, he is also leasing a private line from a reputable service provider. Most cooperate companies and Asian travelers will purchase their own private proxy server. No doubt an amount of fee is incurred upon downloading the programs.Facebook Login Proxy

As ordinary web user like us, we may be more interested to have free proxy server, instead.

I’m sure there are many free proxy servers exist. On one note, you may have to compromise on the poor quality of this free stuff, in terms of speed and connectivity, but not giving up on the basic internet security. Password and content is your privacy, don’t you agree?

Since it’s a free proxy server, who will border to maintain and perform quality tests?

All these maintenance are beyond most web user’s capability. After all, we only want to login to Facebook to share with friends our traveling photos, status or catch up with our love ones.

Are you in the dilemma? If so, do you understand the basic difference between paid and free proxy server?

When you purchase a service from a private proxy server, those paid amount goes to the programmers, technical supports and maintenance team, whom has worked hard for you to keep their servers up and running at all time.

You are the customer; you pay them to deliver the service to you. At the peace of your mind, these experts dutifully perform their task. As simple as that.

So do I still recommend using free proxy server?

In my opinion, its about the choice from web user. If you are earning some incomes from Facebook or Twitter as a internet marketers, by all means, engage the service. Just pay a small fee to the service providers to maintained the proxy server for you. Generally, It will be more productive to channel your focus on gaining profit earnings

Or do you choose to spend time tweaking on configuration tools and proxy settings?

China-Facebook

Oh,, you are not on business purpose? No income to pay the service? Just want to login to Facebook? Students looking for freebies? (whom I used to be in my early days.).

Perhaps, a Facebook fanatic wouldn’t mind forking out some cash to do it.

Certainly, as students, this situation is understandable to sympathies about paying for a proxy server. You are only a temporary users, wanting to social with friends online.

Frankly speaking, it’s a pain in the ass, especially for backpackers traveling to China or Vietnam. Facebook login is almost impossible without a proxy server.

Below is an excerpt that I have read from a traveling blog.

I can’t get onto Facebook here (China), I could if I download some program which will cost me £5 , which will then direct me to an outside server but to be honest I am not missing Facebook that much so I have no way to answer your messages.

To most internet social addicts, saying that you are not missing Facebook is a perfectly perfect white lie. (Joke aside.)

First of all, to every web users reading this post. Getting a free proxy server by your own is not at all difficult. It may be a bit of bother for searching and updating it frequently.

As a novice traveller in Asia countries, I have successfully log into Facebook using free proxy server is possible.

Till next blog, I shall be sharing on How to search for free proxy server. How to use them, identifying the right and secured server. And some basic technical terms that is explained in simple meaning.

MyCube.com; Give It To Me! “My Activation Code”

June 12th, 2011

Dearest MyCube.com; Give it to me! “My Activation Code. Have you just posted this request on MyCube Facebook Page? Well, my friend did! Me too, and I bet most are eager to sign up this new social network from the beta release of MyCube.com. Click this link! MyCube private beta. Signing up is free.

But I already have a Facebook account, what so special about this MyCube.com social exchange website?

The key focus of this new social network is the complete control of your ownership, on every digital material shared within the social network. This includes your status, photos, videos, articles, or news. It takes effect at the time of your first login. All settings are default as “private“. In other words, your choice of privacy is an exclusive privilege given at MyCube.com

Now, there are 2 important features that I have noticed while surfing around the social exchange site, My Cube.com

Firstly, adding new friends are set to the default option of “Only share my public information. Unlike Facebook, it don’t have such features in the process of adding new networking friends. So why take all the troubles to change your privacy settings after adding new social friend’s request? In fact, both sides have this feature. MyCube.com counteract this issue by giving privacy options from the start you add them, as well as, approving new friend’s request.

Secondly, whatever status, photos, video or article that you are going to post, are already set to share within “All Contacts. It also means non-added friends are strictly not able to view your posted content. No one can ‘peek’ into your wall activities and share your photos publicly; no unauthorized forwarding of your content. Take note that Facebook default settings for your wall are set to Public.

For most Facebook’s privacy, users have to manually customize their settings by specifying who ought not to see the posted content. The objectives of owning privacy in Facebook fails from the start.

Here is what the founder & CEO of MyCube.com, Johan Staël von Holstein has to say, “We (MyCube.com) are a sophisticated social exchange where privacy, and integrity is the beginning.” Indeed, that statement is immediately proven-in at the moment you first login.

Lastly, as needed by every sign up using private beta, the activation code is “blog”. Enjoy your new generation of the social exchange and networking!

Facebook Phishing Scams, Are You One of The Victims?

March 23rd, 2011

Facebook phishing scams have been increasing day by day. Are you one of the victims from the popular social websites?

Facebook phishing scams spread like wild fire, constantly attempting to acquire user’s passwords and facebook login identifications. Facebook phishing is one of the classic hacking that most attackers steal your passwords.

Another notorious method is by using keylogger, which I’m not going to elaborate more on this now. (Perhaps, for future post by popular demands or more comments.)

At times, I feel thankful for my shrewdness when it comes to internet security. I wouldn’t say I’m very good at it, however, I just can’t tolerate such a nuisance being played through lame tricks on innocent facebook users.

I was once a victim. So now… here comes the saint to describe:-

  • How Facebook phishing scams works. And
  • How the victim can solve this problem for further prevention.

Below using one of the recently Facebook phishing scams to explain the steps.

Facebook Private Message, Phishing

Facebook Private Message, Phishing

  1. Chat box appears in your favorite Facebook login browser.
  2. Message are usually short, captivating, alluring and sensational, such as “hey lol check out this girl, she I cant believe this video….”. (Frankly speaking, this English message is so much worse than mine.)
  3. On the same message or another, it will show an unknown URL link, or it can be shortened by bit.ly. Within a few seconds, sender goes offline without saying ‘goodbye’ to you. No matter how obscure the link is… DON’T click on it. If you do, please read on…
  4. The unknown URL link will bring you to a new website. Sometimes, directing user with 2 or 3 times before arriving to attacker’s website. Below showing facebook login box almost the same as the Official Facebook login page.
  5. Do click on this link http://facebook.com/login.php to do a comparison from the faked Facebook login page
  6. Any new users or occasional internet surfer, would have already login to that unknown link without noticing any differences. If you examine closely, there is an additional  message, smaller in font size, captivating your attention that further entrap your innocent enthusiasm to find out more info.
  7. At this immediate point of login, victim’s password and username has already sent to the sly phisher by means of emailing or by any form of internet communication that document the critical detail.
  8. You wouldn’t know its happening. That’s the trick of Facebook phishing. So what’s next?
  9. Either by automated or manual, attacker uses your information to login, and apply the same tactics to pass the unknown link to another user from your friend’s list. At times, new link may be created, depending on attacker’s ultimate intention.
  10. As good friends in your list whom has chat and entrusted, there will login to repeat the process of Step 1 from this post. It continue to spread virally in this silent manner.

Faked Facebook Login, Phishing, Close-Up

Passing messages are done without your acknowledgement. Therefore, friends in your list are important to make you aware by informing you.

The solution: Most basic remedy is to change your password immediately.

That is the best and proven solution for any users to cripple the capability of Facebook phishing from login to your facebook without you knowing.

I hope I have clearly explained how Facebook phishing scams works, and the remedy are simple.

Have you encountered similar facebook phishing scams like the above?

What else has deteriorated into a more severe outcome? And how do you solved the problem?

Or have you lost confident on social website like Facebook.com?

March 13th, 2011

Login to Facebook using proxy server, has been most frequently and proven-in method for accessing blocked websites. Perhaps, you want to catch up with your dearest friends and news from Japan on the devastating earthquake, tsunami, and the nuclear emergency happening right now.

Another good reason is that there is no installation of any unknown programs needed, therefore, minimizing potential threads of malicious virus, spyware or malware. And no coding file necessary or memory hogging.

Login to Facebook Using Proxy Server

Above all, its free and safe!

Follow below simple steps that I have concise it. Settings are applicable to only 2 type of browsers on Windows Operating Systems. Namely, Windows Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.

Settings For Windows 7:

  1. Click the “Start” Orb at the bottom left of your computer screen.
  2. Right above the “Start” Orb, you see “Search programs and files” with the cursor placed on the input box.
  3. Type “inetcpl.cpl” into the field and press “Enter” to bring up Internet Properties window. (It’s advisable to remember this command that reduced 10 tedious steps before this).
  4. On the top menu tap of Internet Properties window, select Connections.
  5. Click on “LAN settings” button located at the lower_right_corner. A new window appears as “Local Area Network (LAN) Settings”, illustration below.
  6. Check the box “Use Proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections)” (Uncheck to resume to original settings)
  7. Enter the Address and Proxy as show in the illustration below.
  8. Finish with clicking “OK” to close all windows.
  9. Start surfing to https://Facebook.com/login.php.

Important: With the above settings, logging in to Facebook.com will prompt you with some security questions. This procedure is necessary for verification on your FB account, as proxy server designated below are from S. Korea. Meaning, you are virtually surfing the internet from that country.

So at the end of the security questions, FB will show the location. Simply click “This is OK” to accept and proceed to use Facebook.com.

Are you already on full access to Facebook.com now? Yes? Isn’t this magical?

Now, you may have some questions right now, such as How proxy server works? Am I surfing on anonymity mode? How the proxy server is being selected and why it is safe to use? Will my password be stolen?

First off, please put all this doubt aside. That specific proxy that you are using is safe and on high-anonymity. You are owning the best options at your own upmost advantage, as mentioned from the beginning. What is there to lose? Smile

However, please follow up with another post to answer the above questions, and feel free to comment and share opinions on this post.

PS: If you are traveling in Vietnam right now, be sure to use it with social responsibility, despite Facebook.com being banned by the official authority. And if you are on public PC, do resume back to its original settings after use.
